The Breath of Life
We’re so grateful you’re here. Each Sunday, we share our sermons with the help of our friends at Cave News Times, as we walk together in truth, healing, and open-minded faith. Just a note: Everything shared here—from thoughts and teachings to news and reflections—comes from the heart of the Cannabis Church of Science and Faith. These views are our own and may not reflect those of Cave News Times. We’re thankful for the space to speak freely and grow together.
🌀 Opening Reflection
When does life begin?
It’s a question asked by courts, priests, philosophers—and too often, by those who never carry life inside themselves.
But here’s a deeper question:
What makes life sacred?
Is it a heartbeat? A brainwave? A breath? A soul? A choice?
The Hebrew Bible speaks of Adam, fashioned from dust—but it wasn’t until God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life that he became a living being. Not when the clay was shaped. Not when the heart beat. But when breath entered the body.
So why, in a world where breath is life, do we declare something alive before it breathes?
Why do we call it sacred, even if the woman carrying it does not feel safe, ready, or willing?
✨ Faith Segment (“Science and Faith”)
Yes, God may be real. But religion, as we know it, has been shaped by men—for men—for power.
Let’s start with Genesis 2:7:
“Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
This divine breath is not about biology. It is about spirit. About conscious, chosen, lived life.
Modern science tells us that before a fetus draws breath, it is dependent on the woman’s body for everything. No breath of its own. No life apart from her. That makes her life sacred—her breath, her soul, her choice.
But for thousands of years, religion has been weaponized to erase women. To control their bodies, silence their wisdom, and prevent them from shaping the moral, spiritual, and political world.
One king.
One bishop.
One ruler.
One God.
All male. All absolute.
This is not coincidence—it is design.
From Rome to modern evangelicals, “God’s will” has been twisted to serve man’s rule.
And in this twisted theology, a woman’s womb became a battlefield—her choice turned into a crime.
Her autonomy, seen as rebellion.
Her voice, her mind, her sacred being—made secondary to patriarchal power.
But Jesus?
He never condemned a woman for her choices.
He uplifted them.
Spoke to them when others wouldn’t.
Defended them.
Trusted them.
Appeared first to them after rising from the grave.
That’s the Jesus we follow.
Not the empire. Not the bishop. Not the king.
And let us be clear:
Life is not forced. Life is not coerced. Life is not dominated.
True life is chosen, sacred, and free.
And to the women who have chosen not to carry a pregnancy—
You did nothing wrong.
You are not condemned.
You are not hated by God.You are loved.
You are whole.
You deserve peace—not shame. Compassion—not control. And in this church, you will never be cast aside for reclaiming your breath and your sacred agency.
🌿 Cannabis and Connection
In our path, cannabis is a sacrament—a gift of divine origin to quiet the noise of fear and awaken the soul to truth.
When we commune with cannabis, we let the ego fall away. We feel. We listen. We remember that we are not here to judge—but to love, heal, and understand.
In those quiet moments, we realize:
The breath of life is not ours to give—or to steal. It belongs to the one who carries it.
🧠 Philosophy Segment (“Philosophy”)
Philosophers from Spinoza to Simone de Beauvoir knew something we still struggle to embrace:
Morality divorced from empathy becomes tyranny.
What kind of society claims to value life, while letting children go hungry and mothers die in childbirth?
What kind of religion praises the unborn and punishes the living?
We have inherited systems not built on compassion—but on control.
Yet we can evolve. We must.
A better world is not one where women are forced to bear life—but one where they are empowered to choose it with dignity, support, and love.
Imagine a future where:
- Healthcare is a right
- Birth control is sacred
- Education is holistic
- Childcare is guaranteed
- The village truly helps raise the child—and support the mother
That’s not blasphemy.
That’s justice.
That’s the real pro-life.
🙏 Closing Challenge or Prayer
To all who carry life, have lost life, or chosen not to carry life—
You are sacred. You are whole. You are free.
We pray not for dominion, but for discernment.
Not for judgment, but for gentleness.
Not for blind obedience, but for awakened breath.
Let your breath be your guide.
Let your spirit be your compass.
Let your truth be your sanctuary.
And let us always remember:
“God may be real. But religion is man’s story about it.”
“Cannabis is a sacrament—a gift for healing, reflection, and becoming.”
“A better world is possible—through cooperation, equity, and wisdom.”
🌟 Mantra
Breathe. Choose. Live.
No one owns your breath but you.
