🔥 Focus of the Week
This week’s teachings center on detachment from illusion, letting go of false identity, and embracing spiritual impermanence. To awaken, we must loosen our grip on ego, status, form, and name. We become “passersby”—not to abandon the world, but to stop mistaking it for the truth.
📖 Readings: Gospel of Thomas – Sayings 28, 42, 70, 75
📜 Gospel of Thomas – Marvin Meyer translation
✨ Saying 28
“I stood in the midst of the world and appeared to them in flesh. I found all of them drunk; none of them thirsty. My soul ached for the children of humanity, for they are blind in their hearts…”
🔹 Commentary: Jesus sees humanity asleep—drunk on illusion, numb to truth. The ache of the divine is compassion for our forgetting.
✨ Saying 42
“Become passersby.”
🔹 Commentary: Just two words. Yet this is the Gnostic way: do not cling. We are not tourists or settlers in illusion—we are travelers waking up.
✨ Saying 70
“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring it forth, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”
🔹 Commentary: Your divine spark must be expressed. Suppression is spiritual death. What you withhold will consume you.
✨ Saying 75
“There are many standing at the door, but those who are alone will enter the bridal chamber.”
🔹 Commentary: The bridal chamber is symbolic of mystical union. Crowds won’t take you there—only the quiet, inward seeker enters.
🌿 Cannabis Practice: Sacred Solitude + Detachment
Sacrament: Cannabis joint or oil
Ritual Title: Pass Through Without Clinging
- Find a quiet path—indoors or outdoors. Inhale gently and begin walking slowly.
- As you walk, observe objects or thoughts passing through your awareness.
- For each one, whisper silently: “This too shall pass.”
- After the walk, journal anything you clung to… and anything you let go.
✍️ Reflection Prompts
- What am I clinging to that I know I must eventually release?
- Where am I still “drunk” on illusion or distraction?
- What truth is asking to be brought forth in me—before it withers?
🌟 Affirmation of the Week
“I am not what I cling to. I am the one passing through.”
Let this mantra echo through you as you move through thoughts, roles, labels, and emotions this week.
